Privacy statement

Echopunt solely uses personal data for the purposes they  have been stored for. Unless this is necassary for the purposes they have been stored for, Echopunt does not share personal data with third parties. Echopunt does not store personal data longer then needed, based on the purpose of storage. Echopunt uses al possible recources and measures to keep personal data safe. Echopunt askes permission from contacts for storing personal data when required. Echopunt informs contacts about the purpose of the storage and use of personal data. Echopunt informs contacts when Echopunt will perform special actions with the personal data. 

Echopunt is responsible for processing personal data as outlined in the privacy statement below.

Personal data we process:

We process personal data to provide quality care. This data is processed based on the treatment agreement as described in the Medical Treatment Agreement Act (WGBO). With this privacy statement, we aim to inform you about your rights and our obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the WGBO.

Below is an overview of the personal data we process:

  • Name and address details
  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number
  • Email address

Other personal data you actively provide through the registration form on our website, in correspondence, or via phone

Echopunt processes the following special and/or sensitive personal data:

  • Citizen Service Number (BSN)
  • Health-related information

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Record keeping
  • Billing for healthcare services
  • Contacting you by phone or email if necessary to provide our services
  • Informing you about changes to our services

Echopunt also processes personal data when we are legally obligated to do so. This data is also processed based on the treatment agreement as described in the WGBO.

Automated decision-making:

Echopunt does not make decisions based on automated processing that could have significant consequences for individuals. This refers to decisions made by computer programs or systems without human intervention (for example, without an Echopunt staff member involved).

Echopunt uses the following computer programs:

  • Astraia (obstetric and gynecological application)
  • Zorgmail (secure communication between healthcare providers)
  • Peridos (serves as a medical record system for multiple providers in a chain or network, Peridos/Privacy)
  • Vecozo (verifies clients’ insurance information)

Retention of personal data:

Echopunt does not retain your personal data longer than necessary to achieve the purposes for which your data is collected. We apply the following retention period for your medical data: 20 years.

Sharing personal data with third parties:

Echopunt does not sell your data to third parties and only shares it if necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with legal obligations. With companies that process your data on our behalf, we sign a data processing agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality for your data. Echopunt remains responsible for these processes.

Echopunt does not use cookies or similar technologies.

Accessing, modifying, or deleting your data:

You have the right to view, correct, or delete your personal data. Additionally, you have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Echopunt. You also have the right to data portability, meaning you can submit a written request to have the personal data we hold sent to you or another organization you specify.

You can submit a request for access, correction, deletion, or data transfer of your personal data, or a request to withdraw your consent or object to the processing of your personal data, to fg-echopunt@verloskundecentrumoost.nl.

To ensure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to visit our office to identify yourself. We will not make a copy of your ID. If you cannot or do not wish to come in person, please send a copy of your ID with your request, ensuring that your BSN and photo are blacked out for privacy protection. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, no later than within four weeks.

Echopunt also wants to inform you that you have the right to file a complaint with the national supervisory authority, the Dutch Data Protection Authority:

How we protect your personal data:

Echopunt takes the protection of your data seriously and implements appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized modification. If you believe that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of misuse, please contact us.
